The World of Startrial: A Modular Journey from Heroic Light to Dark Fringe.

In StarTrial, the map is more than just a place to travel—it's a reflection of the challenges you will face. We designed a modular world that responds to your position relative to the capital, Fivestar. Your journey follows a gradient of danger and tone: The Crown (Fivestar): Bathed in the radiant light of the capital, this is the center of civilization. Here, the game leans into High Fantasy and Heroic deeds. It is a place of order, culture, and the starting point for your adventures. The Intermediate Zone: As you venture outward, you enter the lands most familiar to traditional RPG players. This is a balanced world where diplomacy, exploration, and standard questing define your survival. It is home to diverse cultures that thrive in the protective reach of the capital’s glow. The Fringe: This is where the light fades and the Dark Fantasy begins. The landscape shifts into deep purples, shadows, and volatile magic. The further you travel from Fivestar, the higher the threat—and the more lethal the encounters become. StarTrial’s mechanics are built to support this shift. As you push into the Fringe, the stakes rise, the environment becomes hostile, and your narrative tone transforms from heroic adventure to a desperate struggle for survival. Where will your party start their journey? In the light of Fivestar or in the shadows of the Fringe? Follow this blog as we reveal more about the regions of StarTrial and the creatures lurking in the deep purple depths of the Fringe.
